On July 13th, OPPO Find X was officially launched in China. At the same time, the new OPPO A5 was launched, coming in two colors of Mirror Powder & Mirror Blue, and the price was 1,500 yuan (Approximate $224 / ₹15,300).

The main highlight on the OPPO A5 is probably its expected autonomy, packing a large 4230mAh battery which, believe it or not, is a first for the company – they had never equipped an “A” series device with a battery this big. A big battery paired with a power-hungry processor is worthless though, but that isn’t the case.Oppo A5 Officially Launched with Snapdragon 450 and 4230mAh Battery

Oppo A5 comes with a 6.2 inches (81.2% screen-to-body ratio) IPS LCD display with a notch with HD+ resolution 720 x 1520 pixels(271 ppi density) and 19:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC with octa-core CPU clocked at 1.8GHz Cortex-A53. Oppo has added 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage and a microSD card to expand the storage of the device up to 256 GB. Moving at the back of the device, the company has added a dual camera setup with 13 MP (f/2.2, AF) + 2 MP (f/2.4, no AF) to detect the depth in portrait mode.

Oppo A5 also comes with an 8 MP(f/2.2) camera sensor on the front for selfies with AI beauty and ColorOS 5.1 based on Android 8 Oreo as the OS. The highlight of the device has to be the 4230 mAh Li-Ion (Non-removable) battery that is likely to last the device more than a day on paper. Looking at the official renders of the device, it looks like Oppo is bringing the glossy diamond-like finish that it introduced with its Realme 1 in the Indian market.

According to official data, the machine is able to play videos for about 14 hours or play games for about 11 hours, so you’re getting a pretty incredible battery life. OPPO also revealed that the OPPO A5 is equipped with a “quick application freeze” feature, which can intelligently and automatically freeze power consumption for some apps when it “thinks” it’s necessary.

Other specs on the OPPO A5 include a large 6.2-inch 19:9 top notched display, a dual camera setup comprised of a 13MP and a 2MP shooter that can snap photos with a bokeh effect. We then find an 8MP sensor for selfies with AI beauty and ColorOS 5.1 based on Android 8 Oreo as the OS.
